Reporting to the Director of Automation & Integration, the Application Specialist will act as the lynchpin in defining the best-fit commercial and technical solutions to unlock automation and integration opportunities for the business. A skilled and effective communicator across both technical and commercial teams, you will ensure projects are based on deep customer insight, technically sound and commercially viable.
Responsibilities
* Effectively translate customer needs, specifications and operating requirements into integrated packaging and automation concepts.
* Develop system concepts, layouts and solution definitions aligned with company platforms.
* Identify relevant OEM considerations aligned to customer requirements.
* Create and maintain layout drawings and accurate technical definition for each project.
* Develop cost estimates (including materials, labour and integration support) using established tools and methodologies.
* Support the development of proposals through technical descriptions, clarity of scope and relevant supporting documentation.
* Collaborate with business development colleagues to support customer discussions and insight building.
* Actively participate in relevant project meetings with multidisciplinary colleagues.
* Consistently seek out and share opportunities for process improvement including project discipline and methodologies.

* Skilled at building relationships with customers and gaining deep insight into their objectives and needs.
* Ability to translate customer needs into structured technical and commercial inputs.
* Effective and engaging communicator and contributor amongst internal, partner and customer audiences.
* Comfortable and effective working across multiple simultaneous projects and sites.
* Flexible to take on evolving responsibilities in response to company objectives and priorities.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
* Strong understanding of packaging concepts, automation and integrated solutions.
* Experience developing layouts, concepts and estimates for capital equipment or automation projects.
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD and standard productivity tools.
* Travel up to 30% (domestic and international).
