Job Description
New Directions are looking to appoint a dedicated and nurturing 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support an individual pupil with additional learning needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey by providing tailored, one-to-one support in the classroom and beyond.
You will work closely with teaching staff, SEND specialists, and parents to help the pupil overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential in a safe and inclusive environment.
Job Specification
1. Have experience working with children, or adults, with additional needs
2. Able to support children of all abilities.
3. Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning.
4. Whilst previous experience of working in a SEN environment would be desirable, candidates who possess the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.
5. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safegaurding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.
6. Experience of working with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, or other specific learning needs.

7. Understand the importance of individualized supportand inclusive practice.
8. A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students with varying needs.
9. Be able to build strong relationships with students and staff.
10. Be encouraging and supportive
11. Ensure the safety and well-being of the students
12. Support students with a range of SEND needs (including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, physical disabilities, and emotional needs) in their lessons, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities.
