About the Role As Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security, and cleanliness of the school premises. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to respond efficiently to maintenance needs while ensuring the school environment remains safe and functional. Your responsibilities will include: Opening and closing the school site each day Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs across the school buildings and grounds Ensuring the school site is safe, clean, and well maintained Monitoring heating, lighting, and general facilities Supporting the setup of rooms and spaces for school events and activities Conducting basic health and safety checks and reporting any issues Liaising with contractors and suppliers when required Supporting the school leadership team in maintaining a secure and welcoming environment Experience and Skills The successful candidate will: Have experience in caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or a similar role Be practical, reliable, and capable of carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures Demonstrate strong organisational and problem-solving skills Be able to work independently and respond to issues efficiently Have good communication skills when working with staff, contractors, and visitors Experience working in a school environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
