Job Description
We’re looking for a Senior Planner to join the Southern Planning Team based in Southampton and the South. You will work across the Southern region covering Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset, and Wiltshire. The role requires 40 hours per week with some flexibility as discussed during interviews. Ceremonial sponsorship certificates are not available for this position.
Responsibilities
* Allocate 50% of the role to the Baker Barracks project, which includes refurbishment and extensions of existing hangars, expansion of mess facilities, construction of a new office administration building, and a new build modular Armoury store and Weapon Cleaning shelter.
* Use the remaining 50% to support Pre‑Construction and Construction Delivery Teams on multiple projects ranging from £5M to £100M+ through tender, PCSA, and delivery stages.
* Own the development and monitoring of complex project programmes, ensuring construction plans are created, updated, and amended to meet project requirements.
* Produce fully integrated programmes that incorporate all disciplines (design, commercial, construction) based on output rates, benchmarking, time‑risk allowances, terminal float/buffer to contractual completions, and trade package agreements.
* Produce and monitor tender event schedules (TES), procurement schedules, and site logistics, including scaffold schedules, temporary power and water requirements, and temporary work schedules.
* Develop tender settlement information, including benchmarking, liaising with sub‑contractors, and attending regular site visits.
* Collate progress information, including as‑built data.
* Forecast programme scenarios and communicate them to project teams.
Qualifications
* Construction planning experience in a main contractor environment, with a solid history of working on build tenders and live projects between £5M and £100M+.
* Proficiency in Asta Powerproject software and strong ability to use Bluebeam (or similar) for take‑offs, logistic plans, etc.
* Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contract conditions, with the ability to implement these requirements into project programmes.
* Experience in developing claims and construction economic claims (CE’s).
