Gerflor and Gradus offer products which are ideal for use in a wide variety of applications including healthcare, commercial office, education, retail, hospitality & leisure, and housing.

Flooring and walling products can be combined to provide a complete package that balances performance, aesthetics, and cost alongside environmentally responsible manufacturing processes.

Due to our ongoing success, we now have a vacancy for a full time Area Sales Manager to be responsible for development of Contract & Distribution sales in the region through specification of the Gerflor portfolio of products.

Base and geographical area:

You will be based at home with approximately 80% travel across Central South and parts of Southwest London. There will be an average of one night overnight stay per week. The role covers the following postcodes - NN, OX, HP, SL, RG, GU, PO, SO, SP, BH, DT, WD, HA, UB, TW, SW.

The role:

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager – South, you will proactively identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities for new build and refurbishment projects in your region. The method to secure this work will be largely through specification by architect, main contractor, flooring contractor or end user. Eventual sales will largely be through either distribution or direct account contractors.

You will be responsible for the timely delivery of Contract products to the targeted market sectors –

Local Authority Public buildings

Design and Build Sector for Main Contractors

Public & Private Sector Educational Premises

Local Authority Care Premises

NHS Trusts / Hospitals / Associated Premises

Private Commercial buildings (Nonretail)

Private sector Industrial premises

Working in conjunction with existing team members, in particular the Gradus Area Sales Manager counterpart, you will develop key customer relationships in contracting and specification and monitor and develop the sales process throughout the life of a project from specification, tender, contract awarded, on site, sales secured and after sales care.

Implementing company pricing policy, you will be familiar with the use of the CRM system to register all activity and project related information to keep records on an on-going basis of projects in the territory concerning targeted market sectors. The building of a project pipe being key to the growth of the territory.

Key Responsibilities:

To promote and achieve specification / brand awareness of Gerflor and Gradus Commercial products by visiting: Architects & Designers, Principal Contractors, Flooring contractors, Local Authorities, Local Builders, Quantity Surveyors, and End Users.

To regularly organise and present CPD seminars with specifiers.

To participate actively in trade shows where Gerflor exhibits as well as in road shows organised in conjunction with distributors.

To provide market intelligence concerning Competition, Distribution, Product trends, Standards, etc.

To work closely with the Regional Team as well as the Key Account Managers assigned to the region.

To attend customer trips to factories when needed.

To inspect, when necessary, complaints on behalf of the company.

About you – what you’ll bring:

Successful specification sales experience.

Proven track record in driving sales growth, with a highly sales-driven and technical mindset.

Solid experience in a new business development or a senior sales capacity ideally in a similar sector.

Excellent interpersonal skills and attitude.

Flexible, dynamic, and highly organised method of working.

Confident communicator – Presenting, verbal and written.

Passion for providing excellent customer service.

IT literate in all Microsoft programs.
