Playground Technician
Job description
We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive individual to join our team as a Parks Technician. This role sits within the Neighbourhood Services section of the Environment & Regeneration Directorate, a team committed to maintaining and enhancing the green spaces and play areas that bring our communities together.

As a Parks Technician, you will play a vital role in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing playground equipment and park structures across the borough.
Your daily routine will include:
1. Conducting regular inspections of playgrounds in line with safety standards.
2. Performing maintenance and repairs on play and park equipment.
3. Installing and removing equipment as required.
4. Advising internal teams and external partners on technical matters.
5. Keeping stock of parts and reporting requirements.
6. Overseeing external contractors during installation works.
About you:
Do you have:
7. Experience in playground maintenance and safety inspections.
8. A background in multi-trade construction work
9. The ability to prioritise tasks and create maintenance work records.
10. A full driving licence.
11. The motivation to work independently with minimal supervision.
There are no essential formal qualifications required for this role, as full training will be provided. However, successful completion of the Playground Operational Inspection Course RPII Level 2 will be essential within the first 6 months of employment.
