An excellent opportunity for a Post Graduate aspiring Engineering Surveying Technician to join a highly regarded specialist working on a major civil engineering project at a military port near Plymouth. This position is equally suited to those considering roles such as Trainee Engineering Surveyor, Assistant Site Engineer, Surveying Technician, or Assistant Setting Out Engineer.
This long‑term project is set to continue well beyond 2030, with additional work already in the pipeline. Ideal for recent graduates or those with some site‑based experience, the role offers full on‑the‑job training and enrolment on a Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Surveying.
Role Overview
You’ll support a team of experienced Engineering Surveyors while gaining hands‑on experience across key survey functions. The role will involve working alongside monitoring and survey teams, contributing to large‑scale infrastructure developments and developing the fundamentals needed for future progression into an Engineering Surveyor role.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the team in carrying out site setting‑out checks
* Assist with Automated Monitoring Systems and data management
* Help maintain and establish Survey Control across site
* Develop the core skills required to become a fully qualified Engineering Surveyor
What We’re Looking For
* Valid CSCS card (essential)
* Degree or equivalent qualification in a related subject (e.g. Civil Engineering, Geomatics)
* Full UK driving licence
* Ability to pass security clearance for work on a military base
* Interest in heavy civil engineering projects and long‑term career development
Career Development
The successful candidate will be enrolled onto a Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Surveying. You’ll work closely with experienced professionals who will support your progression across major civils projects, offering clear routes into an Engineering Surveyor role.
