Sheet Metal WorkerAerospaceSheffield£34,643 plus extensive benefits packageWe are currently seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker proficient in the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal components for the aerospace industry using various techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and must be able to fabricate quality parts to precise engineering drawings. They must be highly skilled in all sheet metal duties, including bending, cutting, drilling, fabrication, forming, and general sheet metal manipulation with the emphasis on quality & safety within the workshop.Essential DutiesFollow and enforce safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment, prevent accidents, and ensure compliance with aerospace safety standards.Identify and resolve issues during the fabrication and assembly process, employing problem-solving skills to maintain high-quality standards in the finished products.Inspect and test finished components rigorously to ensure they meet the strict quality and safety standards required by the aerospace industry (NADCAP and AS9100).Read and comprehend complex aerospace blueprints and technical drawings to understand precise design specifications for the fabrication of aircraft components.Utilise specialised tools and machinery to bend, cut, form, mark out and shape metal sheets and components required for aerospace applications, ensuring precision by working to close tolerances and adherence to strict industry standards.Work closely with designers, engineers, and other aerospace professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration in achieving project goals and meeting design specifications.Work meticulously according to work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Education and Experience:Essential: A demonstrated successful track record and experience in sheet metal working.Essential: Ability to read, understand and follow written instructions in the form of drawings, SOPs, and technique sheets.Essential: Experience meeting and working towards production targets.Essential: Quality conscious with the ability to work accurately in a busy manufacturing environment.Basic understanding of lean principles (5S).Experience in aerospace (desirable)NVQ, or qualification in an engineering discipline.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Essential: Adaptability and flexibility in various work scenarios.Essential: High precision and accuracy.Essential: Proficiency in understanding and interpreting technical drawings.Self-motivated and proactive approach to tasks.Strong attention to detail.Operational hours rotating Mornings & Afters06:00 to 13:45 Monday to Thursday06:00 to 12:00 Friday13:30 to 21:15 Monday to Thursday11:45 to 17:45 - FridayIf the above is of interest and you have experience of working with thin gauge ~1mm sheet metal to high precision and finish, please forward cv for immediate consideration.TPBN1_UKTJ
