The Role
As a Stores Person, you will play a key role in the smooth running of the production and supply chain function. You'll be responsible for the control and movement of inventory from goods‑in through to despatch, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and excellent internal service.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out perpetual stock checks (Cat. A & B) and daily cycle counts, investigating discrepancies and ensuring system accuracy.
Check kanbans and maintain lineside stock levels.
Pick and process kits to predetermined picklists, preparing parts for assembly.
Manage and maintain stock locations, ensuring correct labelling, FIFO rotation, and safe storage-particularly for fragile or specialist items.
Receive deliveries, verify quality and quantity, and process goods‑in documentation.
Support quality checks and notify engineering teams of items requiring inspection.
Replenish consumables and apply use‑by dates where required.
Deliver shortages and material requests to the shop floor promptly.
Prepare, pack, wrap, and label orders for shipment or collection.
Manage delivery documentation and book finished goods in/out to support on‑time customer despatch.
Assist with incoming mail distribution and general stores duties.
Comply with all internal procedures, rules, and regulations.
Key Challenges
Occasional overtime, including early starts.
Manual handling of boxes and equipment up to 25kg over long distances.
Maintaining accurate stock control data on a daily basis.

Excellent timekeeping and attention to detail.
Numerate with strong data‑entry skills.
Experience driving a company vehicle to collect/deliver goods.
Team‑focused and proactive in helping colleagues.
QC or goods‑in experience beneficial but not essential.
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
Good educational background.
2+ years' experience in a similar stores or kit‑picking role.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to follow company procedures and maintain high standards.
Clean driving licence.
