Your Role EF Torquay Summer School is seeking an empathetic, organised and proactive Residence Coordinator for summer 2026. Position Details Full-time 5 days a week Fixed-term contract between June – August 2026 Accommodation and full board Take an active role in ensuring our international students feel safe, comfortable and truly at home. Responsibilities Ensures the smooth running of the student residences To ensure the residences provide a comfortable and safe living environment To provide the highest level of customer service at all times To help maintain ‘one team’, where the different departments liaise and interact -effectively and efficiently Allocates new bookings to residential accommodation on internal allocation system Assists customers with residence queries, ensuring prompt follow up and excellent customer service Liaises with external suppliers where cleaning/maintenance issues are reported Completes weekly occupancy statistics Ensures allocation information is accurate and sent on time Prepares arrival & departure documents and provides keys for all arrivals Follows up any disciplinary issues together with the Summer Residence Lead and ensures sanctions are applied in line with EF’s residence rules and regulations Liaises with the team regarding any issues reported for residential students Participates in student intakes and first week chats Arranges residence feedback questionnaires Shares emergency duty on a rota basis Requirements A flexible approach to hours of work undertaken is essential Highly motivated, energetic and positive Must be a team player that can lead from the front, be outgoing and have great attention to detail Previous experience in a customer service environment, ideally working with young people and strong emotional intelligence You should be passionate about customer service and providing quality Ability to work under pressure and in a high paced environment Able to remain calm under pressure & to diffuse difficult situations In terms of mindset, we all have a ‘going above and beyond, never settling for the status quo' mentality Fluent in English All offers are subject to a clear enhanced DBS check and two references Right to work in the UK upon commencement of your contract Why you will love working with EF Work in a truly international environment Boost your CV this summer with a world renowned organisation Regular social events Pre-summer online and in person trainings Staff are encouraged to innovate, take ownership of their ideas and bring them to fruition Ambition is nurtured and career enhancement opportunities are available at EF’s year round Language Campuses Staff are encouraged to innovate, take ownership of their ideas and bring them to fruition Global career opportunities External trainings on safeguarding, mental health and first aid Spend summer by the sea Close knit team local to the area EF Education First – Our History and Values Career Progression at EF EF is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
