Medical Lead – Cardiovascular Therapy Area
Reporting to the General Manager and collaborating with the Medical Director, the Medical Lead acts as a strategic partner providing leadership across the Cardiovascular therapeutic area. This role oversees a team that includes a Medical Advisor and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), ensuring cross-functional alignment and driving high-quality scientific engagement with external stakeholders. This is an opportunity to guide the development, execution, and monitoring of innovative research, scientific activities, and publication plans. You will lead impactful initiatives, including early access and launch activities, while engaging with global and European medical colleagues on shared strategic projects.
What You'll Work On
* Strategic Leadership: Shape and execute strategic medical initiatives in collaboration with the General Manager and Medical Director, ensuring alignment with corporate and therapeutic area objectives.
* Team Management: Lead, coach, and coordinate the MA and MSL team across the Cardiovascular therapy area.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong collaboration across Medical, Marketing, Sales, and Market Access teams, facilitating regular meetings to share insights.
* External Engagement: Strengthen relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and lead the organisation of advisory boards, educational events, and scientific conferences.
* Compliance: Ensure all medical activities are accurate, evidence-based, and aligned with the ABPI Code of Practice, acting as the final signatory for relevant materials.
* Market Insights: Generate and share actionable insights to guide strategy and lead innovative research initiatives and real-world evidence projects.
* Market Access: Collaborate with Market Access teams to develop evidence that supports reimbursement, guidelines, and value propositions.
Your qualifications
* Medical or Pharmacy degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent desirable).
* Team leadership and line management experience.
* Experience in the Cardiovascular therapy area and working with relevant KOLs.
* Early access and Launch experience.
* Previous Final signatory experience is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice.
* Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical information clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrable thirst for scientific and clinical knowledge, with the ability to assimilate information rapidly.
* Ability to present data concisely and discuss clinical and statistical relevance.
* Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and upholding the company’s Ethical and Deontological Code.
