The Team
You will work on the origination and execution of lead advisory mandates in the mid-market, specializing within the North to help clients buy or sell companies, from initial strategic review to successful completion. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates to join a growing, ambitious team as sector specialists. The business aims for significant growth through deep sector expertise and high-quality deal execution.
* Develop and maintain senior client relationships across mid-market and global companies, financial investors, and entrepreneurs
* Build market credentials across KPMG’s service lines
* Apply deep sector expertise across various sectors
* Lead projects with support from Directors/Partners, including client contact on M&A projects
* Manage client interfaces, project management, and delivery of M&A transactions, overseeing all transaction phases
* Lead the preparation of transaction documentation, pitch materials, and proposals
* Manage and coordinate colleagues, support staff, and external advisers
* Supervise financial analysis and complex modelling by team members
* Build and develop market relationships
* Contribute to origination and business development efforts
* Monitor and control project budgets, billing, and reporting
Attributes, Qualifications & Skills
* Strong academic background (ACA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent)
* Extensive M&A advisory experience
* Proven deal execution and origination skills
* Strong analytical, numerical, and strategic skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Results-driven with ambition to impact the sector
* Experience in financial modelling, including LBO & DCF
* Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
* Personable, confident, and trusted relationship builder
* Sector-specific M&A transactional experience
Experience & Background
* Relevant corporate finance experience in investment banks, Big 4, private equity, M&A boutiques, or corporate development
* Knowledge of financing structures, including debt, equity, and project finance
* Experience advising on projects reaching financial close, including M&A and refinancing
* Experience advising public sector clients, including business case development
* Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and business case writing
* Skilled in financial analysis and modelling, with understanding of financial accounting
* Ability to interpret and present financial models effectively
* Enjoy engaging with companies, investors, regulators, and stakeholders
* Independent thinker with problem-solving skills
* Experience managing teams
* Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
