Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Learning Facilitator to join a bespoke, Ofsted-rated 'Good' provision supporting pupils from Year 2 to Year 6, with potential continuation into Year 7.
This setting supports children with complex SEMH, autism spectrum conditions, and speech and language needs. The school's vision is centred on a creative, sensory curriculum that helps children transition from Survivors to Strivers to Thrivers—nurturing their unmet developmental needs in a safe, structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
Pupil Support
1. Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence and independence
2. Tailor communication to meet individual needs
3. Support pupils’ social, emotional, and mental health, escalating concerns where appropriate
4. Implement behaviour strategies and promote positive conduct
Teaching and Learning
5. Assist in planning and delivering differentiated activities
6. Facilitate learning inside and outside of the classroom
7. Use ICT to enhance educational engagement
8. Provide regular feedback on pupil progress and identify barriers to learning
9. Supervise the class in the absence of the teacher when required
Collaboration
10. Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals
11. Contribute to pupil support plans and educational targets
12. Participate in meetings and reviews, sharing observations and insights
Professional Development
13. Engage in ongoing training and reflective practice
14. Support the ethos and aims of the wider school community
15. Take part in appraisal and development reviews
Safeguarding
16. Adhere to statutory safeguarding requirements
17. Promote the welfare and protection of all children
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
18. GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
19. Experience in educational or SEN settings
20. Background in supporting learning activities and behaviour management
21. Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
Skills & Attributes:
22. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
23. Ability to remain calm and patient under pressure
24. Knowledge of SEN strategies and curriculum adaptation
25. Confident using ICT to support learning
26. Flexible, resilient, and committed to inclusive education
