Full Stack Engineer

Hybrid Working, based at our Nottingham Head Office 3 days per week

We are seeking a forward-thinking Full Stack Engineer to join our technology team and play a key role in driving digital transformation across the organisation and the wider Hunter Douglas Group. This role is ideal for a problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building innovative solutions that enhance system performance and user experience.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying technical challenges and designing effective, scalable solutions. Your work will involve writing, testing, and refining code, reviewing processes and conducting analysis to ensure high-quality output. You’ll also contribute to continuous improvements of existing systems and software, identifying opportunities to modernise and streamline operations.

This role will involve active participation in project management activities, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of solutions. Your focus will be on supporting and accelerating the company’s broader technology transformation efforts, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.

Role & Responsibilities

* Perform technical analysis to break down feature requirements, identify potential challenges, and design end-to-end implementation strategies.
* Managing and overseeing software processes to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of business-critical systems.
* Designing, developing, testing and maintain application processes and code, with a strong focus on quality assurance, performance optimisation, and reliability.
* Conducting analysis, reviewing existing code, and identifying areas for improvement to increase efficiency and system robustness.
* Ownership of assigned projects including participation in planning, executing and delivering solutions including providing regular updates to stakeholders in order to meet deadlines.
* Integrate internal systems with third-party platforms to design, build and implement seamless integrations, ensuring data integrity, compatibility and performance.
* Participate in an out-of-hours “on-call” level 2 rotation to provide support and quickly resolve urgent issues that may arise outside of normal business hours.
* Stay up to date with emerging technologies, tools, and development practices to support the company’s wider technology transformation initiatives.

Skills:

* Excellent communication skills providing clear and concise instructions, communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* A razor-sharp eye for detail, with a commitment to high standards, particularly within coding, testing and documentation
* The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
* Strong interpersonal skills – able to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team to deliver high-quality results
* A proactive and self-motivated mindset, with the ability to manage your own workload and pursue ongoing self-development
* Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration, with a willingness to support others and share knowledge

Technical Experience:

* Solid experience with C# / .NET for application development
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL)
* Familiarity with Azure DevOps for version control, deployment, and CI/CD pipelines

Bonus Skills (Desirable but not essential):

* Knowledge and experience of C4 or ArchiMate
* Knowledge and experience about UML / MERISE
* Experience working with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms
* Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365
* Knowledge of or experience with ReactJS
* Background in the e-commerce sector or similar fast-paced digital environments
