Job Title: Project Manager – Cards – Transformation
About the Job you are considering:
Purpose of the Role as a “Project Manager” to manage change projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role focuses on initiatives such as platform upgrades, digital issuance, tokenization, scheme mandate compliance, and operational improvements to support strategic objectives
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your role:
1. Lead end-to-end delivery projects, ensuring scope, timelines, budget, and quality standards are met.
2. Develop and maintain detailed project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, resource requirements, and dependencies.
3. Communicate effectively with senior management, project teams, and external partners (processors, vendors) to ensure alignment and transparency.
4. Manage project teams and vendor resources, ensuring appropriate skills and capacity to deliver objectives.
5. Track and manage project budgets, ensuring financial discipline and timely reporting of variances.
6. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies; maintain RAID logs and escalate as needed.
7. Produce accurate, timely reports on progress, risks, and benefits realization for governance forums.
8. Facilitate training, communications, and process updates to embed new issuing capabilities into BAU operations.

9. Advise stakeholders on complex issues, contribute to policy development, and influence decision-making for transformation projects.

11. Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls within project scope; develop new policies/procedures where needed.
12. Work closely with Product, Technology, Operations, and Risk to ensure alignment with business strategy.
13. Perform complex analysis of data and operational impacts; develop creative solutions to meet transformation goals.
14. Communicate complex and sensitive information clearly; influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
15. Set objectives, coach team members, and contribute to performance and reward decisions.
Your Skills:
You should have experience with :
16. 6-10+ years in Project Management with experience in transformation initiatives.
17. Strong understanding of card issuing lifecycle: BIN management, tokenization (VTS/MDES), EMV, 3DS/SCA, fraud/disputes, personalization, fulfilment.
18. Proven ability to manage vendor delivery and scheme compliance (Visa/Mastercard mandates).
19. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (PCI DSS, PSD2, FCA) and operational resilience requirements.
20. Experience in hybrid delivery (Agile + stage-gate) and large-scale change governance.
Skills & Competencies:
21. Project management and governance.
22. Payments technology and integration (APIs, microservices).
23. Risk and control frameworks.
24. Vendor and stakeholder management.
25. Tools: JIRA, MS Project, Power BI, Confluence.
Desirable
26. Certifications: PMP/Prince2, SAFe, ITIL.
27. Experience with major processors (TSYS, Fiserv, Marqeta) and scheme mandates.
