Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Shift Engineering Technician (Night Shift) to join our client, a global leader in medical technology. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise to support production operations, mentor production technicians, and drive improvements in equipment performance, productivity, and safety.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong problem-solving abilities, engineering aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide technical expertise and support to Production Technicians in resolving complex machine-related faults.
* Act as a process expert for specific equipment, sharing knowledge and guiding others.
* Mentor Production Technicians in fault diagnosis and effective use of technology.
* Utilise PCs, HMI screens, MES, and SAP systems for fault diagnosis, equipment management, and maintenance logging.
* Identify and implement equipment improvements focused on cost reduction, productivity, quality, and health & safety.
* Support Project and Process Groups during installation and commissioning of new equipment.
* Lead small process improvement projects, coordinating with Toolroom, Quality, and Validation teams.
The Ideal Candidate
* At least a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
* Proven experience in a high-volume assembly/manufacturing environment.
* Proficient IT skills, with experience using SAP for maintenance logging, ordering parts, and fault diagnosis.
* Strong background in hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, electrical, and servo systems (highly desirable).
* Excellent fault-finding skills and strong engineering aptitude.
* Strong communication skills with a collaborative, positive, and patient approach to mentoring.
Shift Pattern & Benefits
* Shift: Night shift (11:00 pm – 11:00 am), 3 days on / 3 days off.
* Salary: Competitive base salary plus 48% shift premium.
