We are delighted to invite applications for a motivated and enthusiastic Oral Health Dental Nurse to join our dynamic team within the Public Dental Service (PDS) at NHS Forth Valley.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a highly organised and compassionate Dental Nurse who is passionate about improving oral health outcomes across our communities. You will play a key role in supporting delivery of high-quality dental care and oral health education to a diverse patient population throughout the Forth Valley area.

About the Role
As a vital member of the Public Dental Service team, you will:
Support the delivery of clinical care and oral health improvement initiatives.
Contribute to the implementation of the Scottish Governments Dental Action Plan, including Paediatric Oral Health Programmes.
Deliver oral health awareness and training sessions in a variety of settings, including:
Schools
Care Homes
Prisons
Independent dental practices
NHS Forth Valley Primary and Acute Care departments
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
Essential Criteria
GDC Registered Dental Nurse
Relevant post-qualification experience
Qualification in Oral Health Education/Promotion (NEBDN, BTEC, Royal Society of Health, or PDA in Delivering Oral Health Interventions)
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Strong time management and prioritisation abilities
Proven ability to engage and motivate others to adopt improved oral health practices
Note: Applicants without the required Oral Health qualification may still apply. In such cases, the post will be offered under Annex 21 of Agenda for Change terms and conditions. The successful candidate must complete the qualification within 18 months of starting the course or within 24 months of taking up the post. Failure to do so may result in redeployment to a Band 4 Dental Nurse role within NHS Forth Valley.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
