Millbarn Medical Centre is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and well organised individual to join its HCA and Administration Team for 25 hours per week.
Based at the Beaconsfield Medical Centre, just off the M40 the practice benefits from plenty of parking and is a forward thinking, vibrant partnership, where all members of the team are valued.
The post holder will hold a mixed Health Care Assistant, Phlebotomist and Administrator position. They will provide care for presenting patients and undertake administration duties; the current expectation is an approx 40% HCA and 60% admin split. The position offers a mix between Private (20%) and NHS (80%), as Millbarn Medical Centre has a Private ENT Clinic, in addition to its Community ENT Clinic.

Job responsibilities
NHS Phlebotomy and HCA Clinics
Undertake patient Audio Tests for the CommunityENT Service including greeting patients, explain the procedure and responding to any queries.
Undertake patient Bloods/Phlebotomy at a weekly clinic including preparing the room with all supplies, printing blood request forms, labelling all samples and bagging appropriately for the collection service and entering details on the clinical system.
Private ENT Clinic
Preparing the room and equipment ready for the clinic, ensuring consumables are available and to hand.
Prepare the paperwork for the clinic and provide to Reception.
Greeting patients and updating appointment book.
Ensure the equipment provided by Millbarn Medical Centre is fit for purpose and ready for the ENT Specialist to use. To report any defects to the ENT Lead.
Maintain high standards of infection control throughout the clinic, in accordance with Millbarn's Infection Control Policy.
Informing Consultant's Medical Secretary of any DNAs by email.
Keep up-to-date and act in accordance with the Millbarn Chaperoning Policy.
Tidy the clinic room at the end of the session.
Ensure adequate stocks of consumables, forms and housekeeping items are maintained notifying the ENT Lead if stocks are running low.
Undertake any other tasks which arise during the Specialist ENT clinic that do not include any clinical interaction with the patient can assist with getting on and off the bed, removing clothing such as hats, glasses if required, reassuring the patient throughout the procedure.
Report any adverse incidents following the clinic using the Millbarn Medical Centre Incident reporting policy.

General Administration as required by the medical centre.
Qualifications
* Qualification in Phlebotomy is desirable, however training can be provided for the right candidate.
Experience
* Friendly and approachable with excellent patient facing manner.
* Spoken and written English, to a high standard to ensure maintenance of accurate, comprehensive medical records.
* Ability to work safely under pressure.
* Good basic IT skills with an understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Previous NHS experience.
* Good presentation of self, enthusiastic, innovative and flexible.
* Previous administration experience.
