Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Civils Manager in Central Scotland to lead and oversee telecoms civils activities across fixed-line infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for ensuring that all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. The Civils Manager will manage teams of operatives and subcontractors, coordinate with clients, and drive performance to meet programme, cost, and compliance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Health & Safety Compliance – Ensure all activities adhere to relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Programme Delivery – Plan and manage works to meet project timelines and milestones.
* Quality & Reinstatement – Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure reinstatement meets HAUC specifications.
* Cost & Budget Management – Monitor project costs and ensure delivery within budget.
* Team Development & Retention – Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing civils team.
* Client & Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
* Proven experience in civils management within telecoms or utilities.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing operatives and subcontractors.
* NRSWA Supervisor accreditation.
* Valid CSCS card.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and compliance processes.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Desirable:
* Confined Spaces training.
* First Aid at Work certification.
* Experience working on SPEN, Virgin Media, or CityFibre frameworks.
* Commercial awareness and budget management experience.
* Openreach accreditations.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
* Capable of managing multiple civils projects simultaneously.
* Strong understanding of reinstatement specifications (HAUC).
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of fibre network build processes and telecoms infrastructure.
* Experience mentoring and developing team members
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £40,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
