Clinical Nurse Specialist - Duty Worker

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust delivers the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Hampshire.
Fareham and Gosport Community CAMHS currently has a vacancy for a skilled, compassionate, and experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic, established and supportive team as a full‑time duty worker, with scope for the role to change in the future to 50% duty and 50% case holding.
This role is essential in providing a point of contact for young people, families and professionals known to our team, robustly assessing risk plus providing structured guidance and support. The role requires you to be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and have some experience of working within a CAMHS environment or relevant transferable skills.

The team is based at the Osborn Centre, Fareham and is a full‑time role. Flexible working arrangements will be considered upon application. The team operates a service Monday to Friday 9am‑5pm.
Main duties of the job
1. To undertake assessments of individuals and their families in the designated care group with complex health presentations, including those service users presenting with higher levels of risk.
2. To offer specialist nursing assessment and advice where required.
3. To assess and manage ongoing risks as identified during the assessment, ensuring that this is done in collaboration with the service user and carers. To regularly review risk factors and make changes to the management of them as necessary.
4. To update care plans and risk assessments in line with required standards.
5. To contribute to the maintenance and development of the CAMHS and Trust nursing strategies.
6. To ensure that clinical practice is evidence‑based and consistent with relevant NICE guidelines and Trust policies and procedures.
7. To provide supervision of junior staff and trainees where appropriate.
8. To act within the NMC code of conduct at all times.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult / Paediatric) appropriate to the job role.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
