SEN Teacher (Autism & Complex Needs)
Prospero Teaching is proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded specialist SEN School Trust based in Dorset, recruiting passionate and dedicated SEN Teachers to join their team from September 2025 or earlier for the right candidate.
About the School:
This specialist provision supports children and young people aged 3-16 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Complex Needs, offering a nurturing, therapeutic, and aspirational learning environment. The school is deeply committed to helping every pupil achieve success and independence beyond the classroom.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver a personalised curriculum focused on functional skills, independence, and social confidence, supporting pupils in their preparation for adulthood, further education, employment, or apprenticeships. You’ll work alongside a skilled team of teaching assistants, therapists, and multi-agency partners to create a classroom that is both supportive and goal-driven.
Contract:
1. Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
2. Position: SEN Teacher
3. Start Date: September 2025 (or ASAP)
4. Contract: Permanent (or long-term supply with permanent potential)
5. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am 4:30pm
6. Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
We welcome applications from:
7. Qualified Teachers with SEN, Primary or Secondary
8. Professionals with a solid understanding of Autism, communication needs, and EHCP-led planning
9. Candidates familiar with PECS, Makaton, TEACCH, or other relevant approaches
10. Individuals passionate about preparing young people for life after school
Requirements:
11. QTS or QTLS
12. Experience working with children/young people with SEND, especially ASC and complex needs
13. Strong understanding of KS4 curriculum and transition planning
14. Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (within the last year)
15. Enhanced Child DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
16. Two professional, child-related references
