You will:
* Lead sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
* Actively remove blockers and manage delivery flow
* Work closely with developers, testers, DevOps, and architects
* Ensure backlogs are prioritised, refined, and delivery-ready
* Manage risks, dependencies, and delivery progress in real time
* Engage and influence senior stakeholders with clear reporting
What We’re Looking For
You must have recent, hands-on experience delivering within software engineering teams.
Essential:
* Proven experience as a Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Manager in an active software build environment
* Direct collaboration with engineers, DevOps, and QA teams
* Experience working with modern engineering practices, including:
* Version control (e.g. Git)
* CI/CD pipelines
* Cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
* Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
* Experience managing complex backlogs, risks, and dependencies
* High proficiency with Jira for tracking and reporting delivery
Important
This role is not suited to candidates whose experience is primarily:
* Programme or portfolio delivery without hands-on team involvement
* CRM / ERP implementations (e.g. Dynamics)
* Cloud migration-only programmes
* Integration or infrastructure delivery without software product focus
Environment
* Central government / public sector digital environment
* Structured delivery with clear governance and reporting expectations
* Focus on building secure, resilient, high-quality digital services
Location & Working Pattern
* Birmingham (primary hub)
* Minimum 60% on-site attendance required
* Candidates must be within a realistic 90-minute commute
