Salary Range
$62,200.00 - $91,900.00
Overview
The individual will be responsible for collecting biomechanical and electroencephalographic (EEG) data in human participants for screening and enrollment in a randomized phase II prospective trial evaluating a modified Argentine dance intervention in breast cancer survivors experiencing neurotoxicity after chemotherapy. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, work independently within a multidisciplinary team, and manage movement and brain activity time-series data generated within the clinical trial.
This project is funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) R01 for 4 years, focusing on biomechanics and brain activity related to cancer-related neurotoxicity.
Required Skills and Abilities
* Collect and manage biophysical signals including center of pressure, electromyography, inertial measurement units, and electromyographic data.
* Handle protected health information, including adverse events, transferred between study sites.
* Effectively interact with cancer survivors with physical disabilities.
* Work well within a diverse multidisciplinary team.
* Work independently with guidance from the PI.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
Degree in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Biomechanical Engineering, or a related field, with experience in independent human subjects research projects or theses.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Design and implement research procedures and protocols under supervision.
2. Investigate, analyze, and draw preliminary scientific conclusions.
3. Ensure proper data compilation, analysis, and presentation.
4. Develop and interpret scientific results; maintain clear documentation; prepare reports and publications.
5. Conduct independent research and laboratory techniques; participate in research planning.
6. Collaborate with internal teams including the PI, research assistants, students, and safety officers.
7. Engage with external researchers and industry partners for research consultation and updates.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline plus at least one year of related experience, or equivalent combination.
