Job Description:
Why join us
Joining the Financial Control team at Sainsbury's Bank offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic and innovative environment within the finance sector. As a Financial Control Manager, you will play a key role in delivering core finance operations support, implementing key projects, and driving systems change for Sainsbury's Bank and Argos Financial Services. With a focus on continuous improvement, risk management, and team development, you will have the chance to contribute to sustainable and robust financial processes while working alongside a dedicated team of professionals. This role provides a platform for qualified accountants with post-qualified experience to showcase their expertise, drive positive change, and make a tangible impact within a reputable financial services organisation.
What you'll do
You will lead a team in delivering end-to-end financial processes for products and services, ensuring balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation. You will drive changes to finance processes resulting from projects, focusing on robust requirement definition, risk and control assessments, testing, and implementation. Your responsibilities include reviewing accounting processes and controls, designing and delivering improvement opportunities, managing issues or risk events, acting as the primary contact for audits, and developing team members' accounting and control knowledge. Additionally, you will deputise for the Head of Financial Control and uphold the Colleague Conduct Rules.
Who you are
You are a qualified accountant with over three years of post-qualification experience, with a strong understanding of financial services control environments and end-to-end business processes. You excel in change management, risk management, and control design, and have experience managing a team to deliver efficient financial processes, implement projects, and drive continuous improvement. Your analytical skills, attention to detail, and stakeholder collaboration abilities ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and enhance financial operations for Sainsbury's Bank and Argos Financial Services.
We value work-life balance and inclusivity at Sainsbury’s Bank. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive culture that reflects the communities we serve. We offer opportunities for development, flexible working arrangements, and benefits such as colleague discounts, pensions, life cover, performance bonuses, holiday allowances, and various financial and wellbeing benefits. Our aim is to support you in fulfilling your potential and contributing to a customer-centric approach that makes a difference.
