* Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there will be an opportunity to become Quality Engineer in our quality department
* To gain knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes
* Use precision measuring instruments like micrometres, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to check the component dimensions to drawings
* Learn to use measurement equipment, such as hand measuring devices such as vernier, micrometre etc.
* Learn to read Engineering drawings and Control Plans and knowledge of quality systems, gauging and close tolerance measurement
* Conduct first off / last off sample approvals and gain a working knowledge of the application of SPC and MSA principles
* Stop production in the event of unacceptable products or processes
* Data collection activities to define issues and drive improvements Assist NPI team with new product introduction and supporting activities
* Participate in the development and refinement of Design and Process FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and have a technical mindset to review and identify gaps and opportunities
* Ensure Control Plans, PFMEAs and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained
* Support all necessary activities to ensure a robust Quarantine process and system is in place
* Support with scrap and RFT initiatives and identify ways to drive improvements and reduce costs, identify best practices that emphasise defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and that also provide for continuous improvements to meet or exceed all customer expectations
* Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
Monday - Thursday, 7.30am - 4.00pm and 7.30am to 12.00 midday on Friday
