Job Purpose: As a Lecturer in Health and Social Care, you will design, develop, and deliver undergraduate teaching materials, ensuring high-quality educational experiences aligned with institutional standards. You will also contribute to research, guide students, and foster collaborative learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Curriculum Development:
2. Deliver engaging lectures and seminars in Health and Social Care.
3. Develop and update curriculum materials according to industry standards.
4. Utilize varied teaching techniques to meet diverse student needs.
1. Student Assessment & Support:
2. Supervise student projects, internships, and placements.
3. Create fair assessment methods and provide timely feedback.
4. Support students academically and pastorally as a personal tutor.
1. Research & Scholarship:
2. Engage in scholarly activities and publish research findings.
3. Collaborate on research projects and seek funding opportunities.
4. Establish links with health and social care providers for research and placements.
5. Represent the institution at conferences and networks.
1. Administrative & Quality Assurance:
2. Manage academic duties including admissions, timetabling, and assessments.
3. Ensure course content and delivery meet quality standards and contribute to accreditation processes.
Person Specification:
* Qualifications: Master's in Health and Social Care or related; PhD preferred. Teaching qualification or willingness to pursue one; PGCert desirable.
* Experience: Teaching or training in higher education; practical sector experience preferred; research engagement advantageous.
* Skills: Strong communication, adaptability in teaching methods, sensitivity to student needs.
