Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – Early Years Location: Islington, London Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Monday to Friday) About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Islington. This is a long-term, full-time role (5 days a week) working in the Early Years department, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN). The ideal candidate will have previous SEN experience in a primary school setting (Early Years experience preferred) and will bring a bubbly, engaging personality to help children feel supported, safe, and excited about their learning journey. Responsibilities: * Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN in the Early Years. * Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions. * Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in young learners. * Support with behaviour management, emotional regulation, and social development. * Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to create an inclusive environment. * Maintain safeguarding and uphold the school’s values. Requirements: * Must have SEN experience (essential). * Experience working in a primary school, ideally in Early Years. * A positive, bubbly, and patient approach to supporting children. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Commitment to working full-time, Monday to Friday, on a long-term basis. * Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
