This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to lead a dedicated team and shape the artistic development of students from KS3 through to KS5. Key Responsibilities: Provide strong leadership and strategic direction for the Art Department, ensuring a curriculum that is both challenging and engaging for all students. Develop and implement innovative teaching methods that nurture creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression. Oversee the delivery of the Art curriculum across KS3, GCSE, and A-Level, ensuring alignment with national standards. Lead a team of Art educators, providing support, guidance, and fostering professional development opportunities. Monitor student progress, analyze data, and implement strategies to continuously improve departmental performance. Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents, the wider school community, and external stakeholders. Essential Skills and Experience: A demonstrably successful record as a Head of Art or a Senior Art Teacher in a secondary school setting. A strong qualification in Art and a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Extensive experience in teaching Art at KS3, GCSE, and ideally A-Level. A deep understanding of the National Curriculum for Art and current educational trends. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues and students alike. A passion for the Arts, coupled with the ability to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
