Divisional Director of Nursing and Midwifery – 12-month secondment. This is a unique opportunity for a transformational and inclusive clinical leader who can inspire teams, champion women-centred care, and shape services that place the life course of women at the heart of everything we do. The post is with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the maternity and neonatal landscape and will be passionate about advancing services that deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care. The portfolio also spans HIV, sexual and gender health, dermatology, and private patients, providing breadth to influence services that matter to our communities. The purpose of this role is to provide senior strategic Nursing and Midwifery leadership to ensure and continuously develop a high-quality, cost-effective nursing service for patients. The post holder will support the Chief Nurse in leading the development of the nursing and midwifery agenda within the Trust.
The post holder will provide senior professional leadership to all nurses and midwives within the division, develop clinical leadership capability, and lead on education and research (non-medical) with formal academic links to the Trust’s key academic partners. They will lead local projects to promote nursing and midwifery and will be responsible for aspects of clinical governance, patient quality and safety, and improving patient experience.
The Divisional Director will have objectives jointly agreed with the Chief Nurse and the Divisional Director of Operations and will work closely with Deputy Directors of Nursing and Midwifery, Directorate General Managers, and Clinical Directors to achieve the Division’s vision and objectives. The post holder will lead on a minimum of two central corporate nursing and midwifery projects.
