Rethink Mental Illness is dedicated to helping those severely impacted by mental illness.

We are hiring a Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our friendly and inspiring team at our Bristol Men’s Crisis House Service.

All our Accommodation services aim to support people to achieve maximum independence, and to move on to more independent accommodation. Bristol Men’s Crisis House service is an up to 14 night stay for men experiencing a Crisis.

Rota pattern shifts - over a 7 day period including waking nights and weekends.

How You Will Make a Difference: As a Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will support individuals in regaining confidence and engaging in social and workplace activities. You'll work closely with service users to achieve their personal goals and access necessary support on their recovery journey.

1. Provide key worker support, including one-on-one assistance and liaising with other mental health agencies.
2. Focus on individual needs, using communication, motivation, and coaching to support users in achieving their goals.
3. Build rapport based on respect and honesty, maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to the Rethink Mental Illness Code of Conduct.

Essential Experience and Skills:

4. Transferable life/work experience relevant to this role.
5. Good listening skills, empathy, understanding, kindness, patience, and a willingness to learn.
6. Ability to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Charity's values.
7. Experience in supporting people with mental illness or providing care/support services in a social care setting (paid or voluntary) is a plus.
