About the Role
We are seeking a technically astute data evangelist to join our data practice, with a data consultancy and Microsoft background focused on shaping compelling data‑driven solutions and supporting the sales cycle from qualification through to bid submission. While primarily a technical role, you must be able to engage and interact with internal and external stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
You will be a self‑starter, technically confident, able to swiftly create value‑driven technical demos and presentations and instantly add value. You’ll stay updated with the latest leading‑edge technologies and articulate the benefits of Kerv’s analytics and data science services to customers and Microsoft sellers.
Having proven experience in a Microsoft ecosystem data solutions role, hands‑on skills in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and Azure AI Foundry are essential. You will understand networks, security, and performance/cost characteristics of your solutions and be able to configure them.
The Things You’ll Do
* Be an analytics and data science evangelist within Kerv, passionate about sharing data approaches with internal and external stakeholders.
* Attend conferences, events and other engagements to evangelise data approaches, products and Kerv services.
* Develop, refine and ultimately own the analytics and data science go‑to‑market strategies, collaborating closely with the Sales Team, Data Team and Data Practice lead to ensure strategic alignment.
* Own the tender response and proposal process, including technical, commercial and costing aspects.
* Collaborate with sector POD teams, tailoring analytics and data science offerings and accelerators to industry verticals.
* Identify and qualify data opportunities with sales teams across the Kerv group.
* Develop and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to customers in a value‑driven storytelling manner.
* Build tailored demos that solve client challenges and drive forward the benefits they seek.
* Partner with Directors and Architects to present solutions in client meetings, workshops and deliver demos with clarity and impact.
* Provide trusted technical guidance and support to customers during the presales process.
* Work with customers to understand their business requirements and recommend solutions that meet their needs.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within customer organisations.
* Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in the Data and AI space.
* Work with the product team to provide feedback on product features and functionality, including identifying recurring requirements for potential products.
* Participate in internal and external industry events and conferences to promote data solutions and build relationships with customers.
* Feed into the Technical Design Authority and Strategic Advisory Board processes.
Required Experience
* Proven track record in pre‑sales for data solutions, ideally within enterprise transformation programmes.
* Strong understanding of data platforms, analytics and data science from both a technology and business value perspective.
* Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud data services including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, Databricks and Azure AI Foundry.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, particularly in bid writing and solution presentations.
* Commercial acumen with ability to construct deals ranging from 50k to 5m.
* Stakeholder management and technical team interaction (internal, external and third‑party).
* Familiar with Data Lakehouse design and analytics solutions.
* Familiar with structured and unstructured data management approaches and technology.
* ETL/ELT best practice approaches to monitoring and error‑handling.
* Data Governance tooling knowledge, e.g. Microsoft Purview.
* 10+ years’ experience in consulting, ideally with non‑profit, government or financial services exposure.
* 7+ years’ experience with hands‑on skills with ETL/ELT tools.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Well‑Architected Framework.
* Appreciation of information security standards such as ISO27001, PCI‑DSS and Cyber Essentials.
Desirable Experience
* Master Data Management tools such as CluedIn or Profisee.
* Experience with non‑Microsoft analytics technology such as AWS, GCP, Databricks and Snowflake.
* Integration to D365 and working knowledge of Microsoft Common Data Model.
* Understanding of data‑modeling techniques such as Kimball and Data Mesh.
* Microsoft Azure data certifications.
* Microsoft security, identity, networking and storage technologies and cost/performance characteristics.
