Join Cornwall Council's Private Sector Housing Team as a Senior Environmental Health Officer!
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to contribute to ensuring safe, healthy, and sustainable living conditions within Cornwall's private housing sector. As a Senior Environmental Health Officer, you will play a key role in improving housing standards, conducting inspections, and enforcing legislation to protect community health and safety. The Role:
Responsibilities include:
1. Regulate the private rented sector in compliance with enforcement policies to secure positive outcomes for tenants.
2. Utilize statutory powers and Civil Penalty Notices effectively.
3. Contribute to preventing illegal evictions.
4. Process HMO licensing applications, issue licenses, and conduct inspections of HMOs.
5. Respond to requests from tenants and partner agencies.
6. Implement projects to improve the private rented sector and protect tenants.
This is a public/customer-facing role, requiring compliance with the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers.
