The Role
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse & Coldstore Manager to lead daily operations in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment. Reporting to the Head of Warehousing, you will shape the way the warehouse and coldstore run, leading a large team to meet performance, safety, and compliance standards while driving efficiencies and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate and support the warehouse team to achieve shift and site targets.
* Create a positive work environment with strong employee engagement.
* Delegate tasks effectively and resolve issues swiftly.
* Conduct regular performance reviews, manage attendance and handle disciplinary issues.
* Ensure all employees receive appropriate training and development.
* Take full responsibility for day‑to‑day warehouse and coldstore operations.
* Proactively manage labour to meet customer demand and capacity needs.
* Manage stock, inventory and order processes to company standards.
* Deliver excellent customer service through efficient and accurate operations.
* Liaise with contractors to manage plant, site facilities and repairs.
* Ensure operations comply with company policies, legal requirements and industry standards.
* Maintain a clean, safe and compliant working environment.
* Lead on health & safety initiatives, risk assessments and incident investigations.
* Prepare for audits and ensure compliance with BRC and other standards.
* Monitor and manage performance linked to KPIs.
* Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
* Support the adoption of technology and innovative solutions to optimise operations.
* Champion sustainability initiatives within the warehouse and coldstore.
Required Criteria
* Previous experience within a food or temperature‑controlled warehouse.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a team of 10+ employees.
* Proven experience in using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
* Strong leadership skills with experience in achieving targets in a fast‑paced environment.
* Customer‑focused approach with strong communication skills.
* Flexible and hands‑on approach to warehouse operations.
* Proficient IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and BRC requirements.

* Lean / Six Sigma experience.
