As a Maintenance Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining the service, buildings, facilities, and equipment to ensure they are fit for purpose.
* Using good DIY skills to ensure safety for service users.
* Performing regular checks and maintenance.
* Repairing and maintaining all buildings.
* Carrying out decorating tasks.
* Liaising with a manager to report faults and defects.
* Participating in a 1-week on-call rota for emergency maintenance.
* Supporting contractors on-site and completing all related paperwork and tool checks.
* Maintaining perimeter fencing around boundaries.
* Facilitating gardening groups with patients.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Compliance with systems and procedures.
* Previous experience in a maintenance role.
* Gardening experience.
* The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
* Courtesy and respect towards others to ensure high-quality service.
* Participation in training sessions and staff meetings.

You will be working at Ty Gwyn Hall, a rehabilitation and treatment service for individuals with various mental health conditions.
The hospital is located in Abergavenny, South Wales, near the M4, M5, and rail networks. It supports referrals nationwide, with an experienced multidisciplinary team achieving positive outcomes for service users with diverse mental health diagnoses.
