Main duties of the job
As part of this role, the post holder will also offer clinical work in our intensive intervention service (The Intensive Therapeutic and Short Breaks Service, ITSBS), which aims to enable children with Learning Disability and challenging behaviour to remain in the community, preventing family placement breakdown and a move to residential care. This service is a collaboration between Clinical Psychology from Ealing CAMHS-LD team and Social Care for Children with Disabilities (based in ESCAN). It has been running for over 10 years with successful outcomes, and the Local Authority has allocated funding for the continuation of this work.
The successful applicant will form part of the Clinical Psychology Supervision Structure and will offer supervision and line management to more junior staff (where appropriate). They will receive regular professional and management supervision from the Principle Lead Clinical Psychologist. As a Highly Specialist CAMH Clinical Psychologist you will have responsibility for supporting the development of junior staff and students.
The ITSBS is continuing to develop as a model in line with the Transforming Care Agenda and so will provide opportunities for the post-holder to significantly contribute to service development. The Clinical Psychologist will be expected to be able to work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
