Join to apply for the Infectious Diseases Advanced Pharmacist role at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
We are looking for an antimicrobial advanced pharmacist at the Princess of Wales Hospital. This is a secondment post for 12 months to cover a secondment.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated, open-minded, and dynamic pharmacist with excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal/relationship building abilities.
You will lead the pharmacy AMS service at the Princess of Wales Hospital, supporting the clinical service lead pharmacist to develop a culture that reduces infections and promotes excellence in antimicrobial prescribing. You will collaborate with the wider AMS team across the health board to support the delivery of the AMS strategy. Responsibilities include leading, planning, and conducting audits on compliance with policies and antimicrobial prescribing, and identifying potential cost savings related to AMS.
Applicants should be experienced pharmacists who have worked across various clinical areas and are now ready to specialise in antimicrobials. Experience in service delivery and management, with a proven track record of implementing change in dynamic environments, is essential. An independent prescribing qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
The role aims to improve patient care and clinical outcomes by developing and leading high-quality, safe, and effective use of anti-infectives, aligning with national and UK standards. You will provide specialised medicines management advice as part of the multidisciplinary IPC team and deliver patient-oriented pharmacy services to inpatients, outpatients, and during pharmacist-led clinics or ward rounds as an independent prescriber, where appropriate. The role also involves delivering the financial and economic benefits identified in the antimicrobial stewardship programme.
