OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - Band 5
Permanent contract - Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Stroke and Neurology team. The post holder will work in a dedicated OT team alongside a supportive MDT to deliver occupational therapy as part of a 7 day service. The role provides an opportunity to work across the stroke pathway; as the OT team covers hyper acute, acute and rehabilitation on the stroke unit.
The team is committed to delivering high standards of care across the whole patient pathway.
Responsibilities
* Deliver occupational therapy as part of a 7 day service across hyper acute, acute and rehabilitation phases of the stroke pathway
* Manage a mixed acute and rehab caseload in a busy setting, demonstrating time management skills and flexibility
* Work with patients and their families in stressful and complex situations, providing clear communication and interpersonal support
* Collaborate within OT and the wider MDT to ensure coordinated care
* Support the development of problem solving and specialist clinical skills for team members
* Participate in regular supervision and a staff appraisal system in operation
Qualifications
* Passion for providing rehabilitation for people with neurological conditions
* Excellent communication skills and good interpersonal skills
* Committed to team working both within OT and the wider MDT
* Demonstrated ability to manage a mixed acute and rehab caseload in a busy setting
