Medical Receptionist and Practice Administrator
Alderley Edge Medical Practice are looking for two enthusiastic,understanding, flexible, well-organised people to join our busy Doctors surgeryas a Medical Receptionist. We are looking for someone who can work:
Tuesday 3-6.30 and Friday 8-6.30
Wednesday 8-1 and Friday 8-1
across both of our sites.
We have two sites, one in Alderley Edge Village and one in Prestbury Village, serving around 8600 patients. We have afabulous and experienced team of Receptionists, led by our Reception Manager, Rachel.
The practice clinical team consists of 5 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, GP Registrars (depending on rotations), 3 Practice Nurses and 2 HealthcareAssistants who are all supportive and caring.
The right candidate will be able to join the NHS Pension Scheme, and take 20 days annual leave (pro-rata) including bank holidays. After one year of service you will be entitled to the uniform vouchers scheme and we have various other benefits and insentives.
Previous experience of working in a GP Practice is preferable but notessential as training can be provided. Only shortlisted candidates will becontacted.
Main duties of the job
* Coordinating /tracking insurance /form activities including the administration of Subject Access Requests
* Coordinating the practice diary for medical students
* Supporting in the arranging PatientParticipation Group meetings
* Circulation and recording of safety alerts
* Supporting with practice surveys/questionnairesand collation of results
* Provide additional cover to the wider admin andreception teams from time to time as required.
* Answer incoming phone calls, transferring callsor dealing with the callers requests appropriately
* Process patient requests for appointments /repeat prescription requests
* Initiate contact with and respond to requestsfrom patients, team members and external agencies
* Input data into the patients healthcare recordsas necessary
* Data entry of new and temporary registrationsand relevant patient information as required
* Manage all queries as necessary in an efficientmanner
* Support all clinical staff with general tasksas requested
* Scan patient-related documentation and attachscanned documents to patients healthcare records
* Complete opening and closing procedures inaccordance with the duty rota

Alderley Edge Medical Practice is based in Alderley Edge Medical Centre at the Festival Hall. The practice looks after over 8,600 patients. The surgery offers excellent facilities for both patients and staff in a purpose built modern building in the heart of Alderley Edge. Clinical services are provided by teams of doctors, practice nurses and health care assistants. The practice is administered by a team of support staff. Job summary
The role of Medical Receptionist andPracticeAdministrator at Alderley Edge MedicalPractice is to provide comprehensive reception and administrative support totheGP Partners and the Practice Manager.
To support the clinical team by signposting patients to the appropriate healthcare professional or service, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The position will be to support the Practice Manager in all aspects of insurance report and form work, scheduling and rostering of medical students as well as supporting the Finance Manager with elements of research coordination and searches. Additionally we would expect the candidate to undertake reception duties as part of the role, supporting the administrative team in delivering a polite and professional service to the patient population. This will include daily duties as part of task list, open and close as required, and managing administrative duties to support the clinical team and patients.
The successful candidate will be well organised, a team player, able to prioritise their work, have good attention to detail and have excellent communication skills.
