This is a permanent full‑time role (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00) within the Metropolitan Police South East London FM contract based at Sutton police station, covering Bromley and Lewisham as required.
Key activities
* Reporting to the M&E Supervisor
* Provide safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of M&E plant and equipment across MET Police South East London sites
* Carry out installation of new M&E equipment, including minor new works, refurbishment and capital works replacement programme
* Investigate, troubleshoot and rectify defects for all M&E systems and associated plant / components
* Oversee/escort any specialist contractor works as required
* Proactively identify defects and faults outside of specialisation and elevate accordingly
* Ensure prompt and accurate completion of all associated paperwork
* Participate in on‑call rota and out‑of‑normal‑hours activity
Skills & qualifications
* Recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience
* Ability to undertake unsupervised non‑routine maintenance and complex repair/installation work
* Good communication skills and customer‑focused with a proactive, flexible, can‑do approach
* Capability to produce technical/incident reports
* Knowledge of health and safety procedures
* Successful applicants will be subject to Metropolitan Police security vetting
* Driving licence essential
