What's the Programme About? In collaboration with local schools, we're offering high-quality training and paid, on-the-job experience for aspiring Teaching Assistants. Once you've successfully completed an interview and essential checks (suitability, safeguarding, and ID), we'll help you find a paid placement in a school setting that best suits your skills and interests. You'll also receive ongoing guidance and support from a dedicated ABC consultant who'll be with you every step of the way. Before starting your placement, you'll complete a comprehensive training programme led by ABC Teachers and experienced school leaders. This training is designed to give you all the key skills you need to thrive in your new role. ✅ The Role of a Teaching Assistant Teaching Assistants are crucial to the smooth running of schools. They build positive relationships with pupils and staff, offer support for learning, and help mai ntain a safe, productive classroom environment. Depending on the school and the role, you might: Support the class teacher with managing behaviour and delivering interventions Provide individual support for pupils with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) Help track and report on pupil progress and behaviour What We're Looking For: To join the National Teaching Assistant Programme, you should: Have personal experience working with children ( doesn't need to be school-based ); experience with SEND is a real plus ! Be passionate about improving the lives of children and young people. Understand the importance of safeguarding and keeping pupils safe. Able to explain/ vocalise your motivation for a career in education and your understanding of a TA role.
