B&M are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Systems Assistant to join our Finance Systems team on a 12 month FTC. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of finance processes and ERP systems who is passionate about driving continuous improvement, enhancing system capability, and ensuring high-quality, reliable outputs across Finance Operations.
Working closely with Finance, IT, and third‑party support partners, you will take ownership of key Finance Systems processes, ensuring Oracle ERP and associated systems continue to support efficient, controlled, and scalable operations. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining documentation, producing KPI reporting, supporting system enhancements, and helping the business maximise the value of its finance systems.
This role is based 4 days a week in our Support Centre, Speke Liverpool (L24).
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
* Own and maintain defined Finance Systems processes, ensuring they remain accurate, controlled, and aligned with business requirements.
* Produce and manage KPI reporting from Oracle and other finance systems, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and data integrity across all outputs.
* Maintain audit-ready process documentation, working instructions, and training materials that reflect current systems and ways of working.
* Support system enhancements and change initiatives by documenting requirements, coordinating testing activities, and assessing process impacts.
* Act as a key point of contact for Finance Systems queries, managing issue resolution, liaising with third‑party support providers, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Good working knowledge of Oracle Fusion, particularly within Inventory, Payables, and General Ledger modules, with an understanding of system configuration and transaction flows.
* Strong understanding of finance processes, controls, and accounting principles within a systems‑driven environment.
* Experience owning or managing finance systems processes, reports, or deliverables, with the ability to work independently and take accountability for outcomes.
* Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to manipulate, interpret, and present data effectively.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users and collaborate effectively across Finance and the wider business.
