Childrens Residential Care Worker – Esland
Residential Care Worker position at Esland, a specialist Children’s Care service. The role involves building positive, trusting relationships with young people in a supportive, nurturing home setting.
About the Role
Our three‑bedded home near Stafford offers a therapeutic environment where the team supports young people with domestic needs, socialisation skills, educational activities and excursions. The position is full‑time and permanent, with a rotation of 2 days on, 4 days off, and paid sleep‑ins. All shifts are scheduled in advance in a 365‑day service.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide compassionate personal care and support to young people on an individual and person‑centred basis.
* Support development of domestic skills, socialisation and educational planning.
* Assist with day‑to‑day supervision, meals, hygiene, and medication where appropriate.
* Generate and maintain accurate care records and attend shift hand‑overs.
* Uphold and promote Esland’s values, therapeutic approach, and commitment to equal opportunity and inclusive support.
Requirements
* A full UK driving licence.
* Full right to work in the UK.
* Alignment with Esland’s therapeutic, person‑centred values.
* Minimum age 21 years.
* Previous childcare or support worker experience is advantageous but not essential.
Compensation & Work Hours
Salary: £31,917 to £32,540 per annum, including ten paid sleeps per month at £60 each and an hourly rate of £12.60 to £12.95 depending on qualification. Overtime opportunities at an enhanced rate. 173 hours per month with a 2‑day on, 4‑day off shift pattern.
