Job Description:
We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician who is highly motivated and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills, to take on the role of Lead Technician within the Radiopharmacy/PET service of the Pharmacy Department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI).
The Radiopharmacy primarily produces 99m Tc-radiopharmaceuticals and cell labelling procedures. The John Mallard Scottish PET Centre produces short-lived positron-emitting radiopharmaceuticals.
The successful candidate will work closely with the multidisciplinary Nuclear Medicine & PET teams, learning to dispense and manage the aseptic dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals, perform documentation and final checks, conduct quality control including purity testing, calibration checks, maintain facilities, supervise environmental monitoring, and uphold GMP standards. The Lead Technician will assume responsibility for the service and be part of the Pharmacy Operational Management Team, attending governance meetings.
Candidate Requirements:
* Diploma in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent) and significant hospital radiopharmacy/aseptic experience.
* Willingness to undertake postgraduate Radiopharmacy training.
* Radiopharmacy experience is preferred but not essential.
* Ability to manage time effectively for themselves and their team.
* Attention to detail and knowledge of GMP.
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Compliance with Ionising Radiation Regulations for Medical Classified Workers.
