Principal Security Architect - Automotive Business - SKF Group
SKF, a global leader in bearings and rotating equipment solutions, seeks a Principal Security Architect to design and guide secure, scalable, and resilient architectures across SKF Automotive’s technology landscape. This role collaborates with Infrastructure and enterprise architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to embed security into digital transformation and operational initiatives.
In September 2024, SKF announced the separation of its Automotive business to form a new company. The role will be part of this new company and contribute to shaping a secure foundation for the transforming global automotive market.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design and evolution of enterprise-wide security architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and emerging threats.
* Define and maintain security architecture principles, standards, and a reference model to guide solution development across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, DevOps, Data, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Business Lines) to integrate security into solution designs and roadmaps.
* Evaluate and recommend security technologies and tools aligned with architectural goals and risk management strategies.
* Facilitate threat modeling, risk assessments, and architecture reviews for new and existing systems, identifying gaps and mitigations.
* Provide guidance on secure design patterns (Zero Trust, IAM, network segmentation, data protection).
* Contribute to the development of security policies, standards, and governance with the CISO Office.
* Support incident response and forensic investigations by providing architectural insights and identifying systemic weaknesses.
* Mentor solution architects and security engineers, fostering security-by-design and continuous improvement.
* Stay current with industry trends, threat landscapes, and regulatory changes, translating them into actionable strategies.
Qualifications
* Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, SABSA) and security standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
* Proven experience designing secure architectures in hybrid environments (on-prem, cloud, edge).
* Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native security controls.
* Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC).
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
* Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, AWS/Azure Security Architect, TOGAF are highly desirable.
