Business Solutions Officer – Role Overview
The Business Solutions Officer will play a key role in the change management cycle within the Authority, capturing user and service requirements, analysing data and models and developing business process mapping for solutions. On a day-to-day basis you will:
* Analyse current business practices and operational procedures to determine new, innovative solutions that provide added value for the Authority.
* Work with service management representatives across the whole Authority, to act as a key link to embed improved or new solutions within the Service.
* Support the planning, management, organisation and monitoring of all phases of project delivery.
* Maintain a close working relationship with all service areas, ensuring users are kept fully informed to support any systems or changes.
About the Candidate
We are looking for a dynamic individual with strong multi‑disciplinary expertise. The ideal candidate will possess proven skills in project management, business process improvement and experience of working with a range of IT software solutions. This role requires adaptability, analytical thinking, and the ability to deliver results across diverse projects and systems. The ability to engage, collaborate, lead and manage under own direction, along with the ability to work in a team environment will be vital. You will act as a key driver for implementing change.

About the Organisation
We play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the decision‑making process of the Council, including support and advice to Councillors; PA, administrative and project management support to all service areas; facilitating elections; the communications team; translation and the Welsh Language policy officer. Our key functions include: Corporate Service Support: PA and Administrative support; Business support including project management and minute taking. Democratic Services: Councillors; Council, Cabinet, Overview and Scrutiny Committees and Regulatory Committees. Electoral Services: General and local elections; Management of electoral register. Communications Team: Manage communication activities corporately; support services in campaigns and projects; deal with the press and media; develop and issue press releases; manage social media pages. Translation: Documents and simultaneous translation. Welsh Language Standards: Operational; Policy making; Promotion; Monitoring; Service delivery.
Location
