Business Utility Renewals Ltd (BUR) is a growing UK-based energy consultancy, dedicated to helping businesses of all sizes take control of their energy usage, reduce costs, and meet sustainability goals. Through tailored advice and strategic procurement, we support our clients in navigating the energy market with confidence.
As part of our expansion, we're looking for a dynamic and people-focused Sales Manager to lead our SME and corporate sales and lead generation team. Reporting at Director level, you will play a key role in driving performance and increasing our market presence.
Role Overview:
This is a leadership role focused on developing, coaching, and supporting a team of SME and corporate sales agents. You won’t have individual sales targets, but you'll be accountable for creating the environment, processes, and structure that empower your team to perform at their best. The right candidate will be passionate about team development and operational excellence within a B2B sales setting. Training will be provided, to cover BUR’S energy platform, CRM and BUR processes.
Key Responsibilities Include:
· Hands-On Sales Team Management: Lead, mentor, engage directly with sales agents and clients to drive development, improve communication, and strengthen rapport with key stakeholders, working across SME and corporate energy markets.
· Performance Development: Conduct regular 1-to-1s, set clear KPIs, and support team members with training, feedback, and development plans.
· Process Oversight: Monitor sales processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
· Collaboration: Work closely with all internal departments to ensure sales handovers are smooth and clients receive an excellent service.
· Reporting & Insights: Provide performance updates to senior leadership, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
· Onboarding: Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training of new sales agents and lead generators, ensuring they are set up for success.
· Culture & Motivation: Foster a positive, supportive, and high-performing team culture.
This role would suit someone who has:
·Proven experience managing a B2B sales team (ideally within the energy, utilities, or consultancy space).
·Strong leadership and coaching skills with a focus on people development.
·A clear understanding of energy sales processes for both SME and larger corporate clients.
·Ability to implement and improve sales systems, processes, and documentation.
·Comfortable using CRM systems and performance data to inform decision-making.
·Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
·Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to juggle multiple responsibilities.
·8:45am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday
·A full driving license is required as your role will involve visiting clients
Interview Process:
· 1 st Stage – Teams interview - Competency based. This is your opportunity to ask any relevant questions.
· 2 nd Stage – Face to Face interview – This is your opportunity to discuss role in more detail, see our offices and meet some of our team.
·£45k to £50k basic dependent on experience
·Commission/Bonus based on team performance
