My Client based BT11 area of Belfast require 2 Part-time Medical Receptionists/ Administrators to join their team. These posts are temporary with the view to becoming permanent. The successful Candidates will be expected to provide an effective & efficient service to the Practice. Reporting to the Practice Manager please see below a list of duties Duties: Responsible for opening the premises punctually and locking and securing the premises at night. Ensuring that upon opening/closing the surgery that the telephone system has been transferred to/from the out of hour’s service. Responsibility for greeting and dealing with patients courteously, both in person and on the telephone. Operating and maintaining practice computerised appointment system. Responsibility for recording and preparing requests for prescriptions. Operation of telephone and dealing with telephone enquires which includes recording messages ensuring relevant GP or member of staff receives these. Opening mail and distributing to appropriate doctors and staff. Ensuring outgoing mail is posted daily. Operating, updating and maintaining the practice electronic filing system which includes filing and extracting patient information, changing names and addresses and scanning practice mail. Making appointments for patients for review. Assist with the recall organisation, sending recall letters and contacting patients by telephone as required. Provision of cover for other staff as required (including holidays and sickness). Participate in the training and induction of new staff. Registering new patients to the practice Liaising with BSO, Trusts, doctors, nurses, and community and practice staff to ensure the smooth flow of communication. Ensuring sufficient prescriptions in each consultation room. Undertake in-service training as required and attend/participate in monthly Team meetings. Essential Criteria 2 years experience in a similar role (to include telephone & face to face contact) GCSE Maths & English @ grade A – C or equivalent Fully computer literate Evidence of working in a team & on own initiative Excellent communication & organisational skills Flexibility to cover sickness & holidays Ability to deal with distressed or anxious patients Desirable Criteria Experience in a medical environment (GP surgery) advantageous although training will be given A knowledge of medical terminology Hours of work: Surgery open from 8am – 6pm 2 X 20 hour posts available, days, start & finish times to be discussed £13.45 per hour To apply for the above vacancy please forward your CV via the link below or contact our office
