Want to be at the forefront of shaping the best care for our community? Newham Hospital is pleased to offer this excellent opportunity for an ambitious and experienced healthcare director to join our senior leadership team, effectively operating as the Finance Director of Newham Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Report to the Chief Executive and professional accountability to the Deputy CFO.
* Lead a high profile professional team and deliver all aspects of financial management and leadership of accountants to support day to day financial performance.
* Work closely with Executive, clinical, academic and operational colleagues to provide advice, implementing and adhering to financial controls.
* Ensure operational teams make informed financial decisions and align hospital strategy with overall group financial and operational strategy and plan.
* Deliver financial plans and accurate and timely monthly performance reports to the Trust Board and provide support to the Deputy CFO with strategic direction and business planning.
* Think broadly across systems and networks to support the hospital in its role with devolution of NHS England specialised commissioning.
Qualifications
* Qualified accountant with strong financial management and leadership experience, ideally gained within an NHS environment.
* Excellent engagement and influencing skills and ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to champion best practice, continuously improve and work as part of a close team to drive financial performance across a large and complex trust.
* Ambitious, intelligent, credible and articulate leader with exceptionally high standards and ability to support and challenge high profile specialist colleagues and demonstrate commercial strategic thinking within a healthcare setting.
