Hackney Council is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join the team as a Mobility and Blue Badge Assessor. In this role, you will conduct assessments and observations to determine eligibility for Blue Badges in line with government criteria.
You will carry out mobility assessments in the Hackney Contact Centre, provide walking equipment where necessary, and refer or signpost service users to relevant support services. The role requires close collaboration with a variety of agencies and stakeholders to ensure effective, joined-up support for residents.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct mobility assessments to determine eligibility for Blue Badges.
Provide and advise on walking equipment where appropriate.
Signpost or refer individuals to additional services to support independence.
Work collaboratively with external agencies and stakeholders to deliver coordinated care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments and interventions.
Requirements
Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration.
Experience in mobility assessment and assistive equipment provision.
Strong knowledge of person-centred, strength-based practice.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
