We are looking for a skilled and patient Bricklayer to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision in Leigh, starting 15th September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong trade skills who is passionate about working with young people and keen to make a difference in an alternative educational setting.
About the Role:
* Deliver hands-on sessions in basic bricklaying to small groups of students
* Support pupils in building a one-brick wall, helping develop their practical skills, confidence, and teamwork
* Work alongside teaching and support staff to manage behaviour and maintain a calm, structured environment
* Act as a positive role model for students with social, emotional and behavioural needs
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a bricklayer
* Ability to clearly demonstrate and teach basic bricklaying techniques
* Comfortable working with pupils with SEMH needs in an educational or mentoring capacity
* Excellent communication, patience, and behaviour management skills
* Reliable and committed to working four days per week (Mon–Thurs, 08:30–16:30)
Desirable:
* Previous experience in an educational or youth work setting (not essential but beneficial)
* Understanding of safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people
